Good times

Had a perfectly good experience sleeping at the new domestic terminal in Bombay (for a third-world airport, that is) ... it was reasonably clean and I just lied down on the floor. Don't expect beds or any comfortable seating to be available in the check-in area. There are seats once you go through security. No one disturbed me and security was good - they will only let you in if you are flying the next morning. There were not many people around, so wasn't worried about having my things stolen or anything. It was cold there, though, because of the air-con.

Not a bad place, but not great either

I thought Bombay Airport (which I visited in 2005) was adequate - not the h---hole as described by some others here. There were great sleeping lounge chairs available in the waiting area. As my husband is Indian maybe he knew to look for them in areas of the airport where Westerners don't go. I wasn't the only non-Indian around but there were very few of us. The lounge chairs didn't lay perfectly flat, they were more like chaise lounges on the beach, but upholstered. There were scores of these chairs set up in rows with a lot of people using them. The hardest part was finding two next to each other so my husband and I could rest next to each other. Yes, there was noise and there were frequent flight announcements, but I've been in airports where I've been chased off by security (Gatwick), or had to sleep on the filthy floor (Bangkok). The bathrooms at the airport were Indian style. I found them to be clean, but with no toilet paper. I always carry my own toilet paper anyway. I was reasonably comfortable there and would not give it the total thumbs down. NOW if you want to talk about Madras airport, that's another story!!!!!
Um, you may want to rethink sleeping in this place

I Must suggest Security Person at Airport Entrance should be changed / abandoned , They are very very Rude to indian Passengers , but they very nice to English Girl White Skin, Why? This scene has been observed by all Travelling Passengers with telephonic camera supporting evidence, However this people is a liability to Airport authority and black spot to Indian Airport Reputation. I suggest you must send the security people for Manners & Discipline Training. or sack Them. Some time i feel like to slap them on their Behaviours, They are just Bastards.
I hope you will take this as a note and act on behalf of all passengers.
Thank You
