"This appears to be a new airport situated about 40km from Lhasa. Given the amount of peak season flights (maybe one or two flights a day) the size of the airport is disproportionately large but I guess the Chinese Govt is planning for the future. I believe the airport only opened for flights so I find it highly unlikely that the authorities would allow sleepers. I'm not sure if there is any public transport - everyone had prearranged pick ups. I couldn't see any shops and from the moment we got off the flight we were not left to stray unsupervised: health check, immigration, customs and then straight into the arms of the tour operator! The staff were friendly and helpful, but I did wonder if they'd follow me into the toilets! "
