""I was travelling back after my stay in Nagoya this
December and very unfortunately, just as we were called to board
our plane it starting snowing outside- a snowfall rate of which
was unusual for that region. The airport was not prepared and
didn't have snow ploughs and such so all flights were delayed.
We ended up camping out at the airport the entire day (my flight
was supposed to be in the morning but we only flew in the
night). I would say the overall appearance and feel of the
transit area wasn't too bad... the Japanese really do a superb
job at keeping the place up. (This is the new Chubu airport
which opened March 2005) HOWEVER, the whole area was really
small seeing that it was not meant to be a major stopever
transit kind of airport. The place became crowded with everyone
waiting for their flights, and the seats, though cushioned, were
cold and difficult to sleep on.. with arm rests separating them.
In the end we did manage to grab some sleep in the far ends of
the terminal away from where the crowd was congregating, and we
stole some sleep on the carpeted floors....." [ read
