"I was on a flight from Phnom Penh to Incheon, South Korea. Unfortunately, during my trip I had contracted a rather nasty case of food poisoning and had a high fever and frequent nausea. That flight is the last to leave Phnom Penh by a number of hours so when I arrived nothing was open. After check-in opened and I went upstairs to find that passport control and the security checkpoint were closed so I sat down. However a very nice security man saw me sitting on the floor and escorted me through a closed customs and let me lie down and gave me a drink of water. When passport control opened, he took my passport and did the formalities for me and then escorted me through security."

"Phnom Penh's Pochentang Airport has been graced by a new international terminal built by a French contractor who reportedly ignored all WTO regulations and slid lots and lots of money under the table for the contract. Much of the fittings for the "new" terminal were purchased second-hand from the old Kuala Lumpur as it was dismantled. The chairs are metal and cold, the food is bad and the coffee tepid, the internet cafe works some of the time, the book shop is overpriced. Rather than sleep in the airport, head in to town and grab a hotel for 5."
