"Cleaning staff helpfully woke me several times to ensure i'd not miss my flight" (Heather)
"The bottom line: you're going to have a long layover in a nice airport that is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to sleep in." (?)
"We asked one of the workers about where "those crazy people that sleep in the food court" tend to congregate. They laughed and pointed straight across from them to the glass walls lining the largest section of the dining area of the food court." (?)

Most of the USA flights get to the Jorge Chvez Airport late at night or very early in the AM ... if you are connecting to Cusco (and most tourist are) then this airport is a good place to hang, especially when you consider that you are in a developing country. The Starbucks has a free internet connection and there are chair massages that stay open to 1 am... There are six or so fast food joints and an acceptable sit down restaurant - all on the second floor. There is storage lockers for your luggage on the first floor. Try the fruit and fresh fruit stand on the second floor ... very good and inexpensive. Over all, if you have 2-6 hours to kill then this airport is more than comfortable.

I have slept dozens of times in the Lima airport. Not the easiest, but not impossible! If you want to keep total access to food, sleep at the little sit down restaurant cafe. I can sleep in a chair and they will ask for a wake up time to help. If you are exhausted and just want to crash, go ahead and check in and go through security. You can usually do this quite a lot beforehand. At the gates downstairs, there are backed benches with no arms that are quite comfortable and I fall so deeply asleep I've nearly missed flights! Announcements are awful so bring headphones.
