using the airport as an overnight base." (Mudheno)

"As a person, who has lived in Ekaterinburg all my life, I
can describe my native airport in details.
The new terminal for international flights was opened in 2006,
so it became much better than previous little hangar.. In 2007,
the new domestic terminal was built next to international
terminal and you can find these two buildings in one piece.
There are 2 entry into the terminal, but you can shuttle easily
between them...
You have to show your passport on the entry to police officer,
but it's common for Russia. Terminal is opened 24hour.There is
not a lot a passengers on the second floor, where you can sleep
on hard seats....
Security level is good, so, you haven't to care about your
luggage, but try don't forget about, because there are some
passengers from/to former Soviet countries (Uzbekistan,
Tadjikistan) can look for it :-)
Big problem for airport is transportation.
Non-official taxi drivers are angry and will try cheat you. Try
to use taxi - "SPAS" (Cnac) - black limo with yellow
squares. or just talk with taxi manager on the 1st floor.
There is no good public transport there to city - it's just
local bus number 1 to Railway station - but it's always
overcrowded.
Anyway, the airport is growing fast, and new terminals are
building at the moment.
It's light and clean.
I was in some foreign airports and can say that will not be the
worst point of your destination."
