This is business commuter airport, doing short flights to the continent. It is a great location and very easy to get to if you are in central London as it is zone 3 on the DLR. Quickest to get their using the Jubilee line then transfer to the dlr as late as possible. There are no seats before security other than an upstairs bar where you cannot nap. After check-in and passing through security (which is quick regardless of peak time). After security you will be able to have a quick nap in comfy seats but this airport is efficient and you will be on the plane quicker than you could expect.
As flights are commuter flights to europe, seats are by default business class. Expect a meal and free alcohol for even a 45 minute flight! Book well in advance and get a cheap deal, food, alcohol, easy to get to, quick security and an AMAZING view of London at day or night as the flights generally circle around once or twice before landing and after take off.
so, just how bad is this airport?
