    Painful but doable
Definitely not the best airport to overnight in. Avoid it if you can, but if you have no other options, it's doable. There were people sleeping everywhere, dozens and dozens of us, and nobody gave us any trouble. The cleaning crew was noisy, but nothing too horrible. Security barely knew we were there. The benches are extremely uncomfortable, so I spent the night on the ground, which was awful as well. The more seasoned travelers had sleeping equipment and camped out in the better spots around the terminal. There are bench-like areas to be found, as well as secluded spots behind ads and the like, which you should definitely stake out well ahead of time. Stock up on food before the stores close around 11, because your only source of nutrition will be a single vending machine. Also, for some insane reason, they turned off the heat when the restaurants shut off, and by midnight the a...

    Possible, but loud
It's possible to sleep there. Security doesn't care. Nobody cares. Many people staying overnight. Reasonable places if you have sleeping bag (and maybe karimat) are niches of windows next to check ins. They are sort of bed sized. Seats are bad to sleep. Lots of people come to check in at about 4:30am, they kept me awake. Worst thing: noise. You're going to hear extremely loud advertisements of buses to Brussels every 10 minutes or so, even at 3am. The cleaning machines are also particularly loud.

    First time
This was my first time to sleep in the airport so I was a little unprepared. The airport closes around 11PM. Doesnt open until 5AM. There are tons of other people sleeping. The loud speaker gets really annoying but it cut off by when the airport closed. People start coming in at 4:45 so good luck sleeping anymore after that. Benches all have arms and are all mostly taken. There are plenty of places to sleep on the ground. Gets a little chilly. Overall not terrible.

    update re this airport
just an update-have not slept there; this (mainly RYAN and some other low-cost air) has MOVED into a new terminal opposite the runway vs. the old one early 2008. it is of course new and bigger. thus most of reviews here do not apply anymore-keep that in mind. As one can expect in any RYAN-served european airport, overnights are possible and done a plenty. Hard seats with armrests in between or the tiled floor remain the options-but the area is far larger as before.

    Damn Cancelled Flight
I had a flight around 10 pm from Charleroi to Pisa, but my flight was cancelled and I was boarded in the next flight at 7 am of next day. So I decided to sleep in airport (it was too late to get a taxy and looking for a free room, and in the morning the flight will land too early) with other cancelled flight's passengers. It was not so bad, I could sleep on a benches, just near a big window. The cleaners was polite, noisy, but not so much. At the early morning (around 6 o'clock) many people arrive at the airport make a lot of noise The only bad stuff was that from windows a lot of cold air flow, and the heating was turned off in the middle of the night, so it was very cold...

(Contributed by megz4716) "My flight was in the early AM and I had been visiting friends about two hours away. As there's no public transportation early in the morning, my friend and I decided to head to the airport the night before. There were several other people trying to sleep, but it was difficult as the hard plastic bucket seats are impossible to stretch out on. We opted for the floor and pulled two sets of seats in around us in a corner to make a little fort. That seemed to work okay for security, but linoleum is never comfortable, even with a blanket and pillow. The airport is so small (four gates) that every time an outside door opens, you get a blast of cold air (we were there in winter). Only recommended if you've no better option (even if you're traveling on the cheap)." Added 28 August 06

(Contributed by Jessica) June 2003 - We were supposed to sleep in this airport but upon flying in we found that the Budget Rent-a-car person had stayed late just to get us our car. Thank god for him...the airport had very few chairs which were bucket seats with armrests. The place had a foul odor and the bathrooms were filthy. (We realized that we would have been sleeping on the dirty linoleum floor.) Added 05 Jul 03

I was delayed here for six hours in Nov 2001 and had no choice but to go back into town for a few extra strength brews!!!. The airport is almost solely used by Ryan Air so delays can be expected .The worst point about this airport is that their are no money changes or withdrawal facilities what-so-ever! Switch or Visa is not accepted and there is no ATM or exchange facilities so those arriving without currency should beware. The bar/cafe is overpriced and terrible. There is supposedly a restaurant doing decent food and booze but it was closed when I was there for no apparent reason. The airport is tiny and has no benches to sleep on although you can sleep on the cold tiled floor behind the unused kiosk booths. It's a shocker!"
