Perth Airport

Lasting Impressions....

Memorable comments left by travellers:

"seems like a fine squat" (?)

"The security guards are pretty paranoid though but if you play dumb and pretend to have minimal english they will help you out in whatever way they possibly can" (?)

"I guess this airport wasn't too bad, i'm just bitter because they kicked me out at 1am with no where to go" (ziggy)

I had to sleep as I had to wait for a connection flight to Exmouth the next day. There were no hassles in general and I had a good night there - of course its not a hotel but if you bring a Thermarest as I did and wax to close your ears you'll sleep well as no one takes notice of you - the permanent lights were a bit annoying but I took a beanie to cover my eyes - problem solved. There were a few other people who stayed with me - I didn't know them before so that was a great thing as we sort of made a small sleeping camp - unfortunately without a campfire but it makes all easier if you want to go to toilet or something someone can watch your stuff :-) There were no 24/7 shops open but I remember a few food and drink distributors. The Airport is relatively small and in general open to the public - just in front of the entrance is the parking space.

Sweet dreams in perth !

"I have to wholeheartedly agree with Chris' comments about paranoid customs agents in Perth. I recently got back from South Africa and out of all 20 countries I've been to, I haven't been made to feel as much of a foreigner as I did returning to my own country. They went through everything in my wallet and handluggage, took the drum away I had bought in Mozambique, and asked me a whole heap of stupid questions as if I was a foreigner visiting Australia.

'Where are you going on to after this?'

'Adelaide'

'What's in Adelaide?'

'A square mile of city centre and suburbs wtf do you think is there? I'm Australian aren't I? So why the stupid f***ing questions?'

My advice is, don't fly into Perth!"
