tell us how much this airport rocked!

My remembrances are of a small town with a pretentious airport. Sculptures, dolled up elderly people with too much makeup on. Very uncomfortable CHEAP plastic seats with sharp edged metal arms all out of proportion to the froofroos around it. The unusually strict airport security guys (all the terrorists that hang out in Palm Springs for chrissakes! let a girl get her sleep!!) will not let you sleep on the floor. You could try sleeping in the terminal - but the terminals are outdoors and on this particular evening it was cold and VERY windy and the seating was largely made of concrete or nasty white plastic lawn furniture looking stuff. I sat up on one of those stiff nasty chairs all night. Since not much flies out of Palm Springs at night, the guards kept asking to see my ID and plane ticket...they did this in shifts. Reminded me of descriptions of purgatory - qualifies for a low grade of hell. "
